In summer, our Pustertaler Sprinzen cattle are at home on the pastures and meadows at the foot of Mt Dachstein at our own Brandalm pasture. Here they spend quiet and undisturbed days – while you enjoy an active hiking holiday in Styria. We now have an incredible array of activities for children on the farm and on the mountain pasture – a mountain summer dream for kids and parents!

Climbing and hiking holiday in Schladming
Ramsau am Dachstein is a sunny, wooded, south-facing plateau under Mt Dachstein for climbing and hiking. On the 18km-long and 4km-wide plateau, you’ll find ideal hiking and climbing conditions on three levels: Meadow and forest hikes on the local plateau. Alpine pasture and rock paths at an altitude of 1,700 metres. High Alpine climbing and summit paths at over 2,700 metres. In total, more than 200 kilometres of marked circular hiking and hut trails await you. There are also numerous via ferratas – including ones especially for children and teenagers!

Bike and hike
Bike directly from Brandhof to the starting points of fantastic hikes and then head up the mountain on foot! Enjoy the view from the summit, fortify yourself at your favourite Alpine hut, and then head back home by bike. There are over 24 bike-and-hike stations available in the holiday region, and in Ramsau you’ll find a bike-and-hike locking point at Brandalm and at Silberkarklamm gorge.
MTB at Schladming
The beautiful landscape around Brandhof is ideal for unforgettable (e-)mountain bike tours. The best place to get on the seat is right outside the door of your apartment. Our tip: Many paths lead to Brandalm, where a hearty refreshment stop awaits you (journey time approx. 30 minutes).
Ramsau meadow tour
From Brandhof, make your way towards Brandalm and then on to the valley station of the glacier cable car. After a short descent, continue along forest roads and field paths towards Bachlalm and back to the village of Ramsau.

Elevation difference: 939 metres
Panoramic tour
The panoramic tour leads along the forest path and past Brandalm to the Dachstein/Türlwand valley cable car station. Thanks to the wonderful scenery and the view of the south face of Mt Dachstein, this tour is one of the most popular in the region. Make your descent via Dachsteinstrasse. Craving more? Ramsau tour
This tour is a highlight of the region. It offers fabulous views from various points, rapid downhills, and challenging individual mountain stages.

Mt Dachstein tour
The unique multi-day “Dachsteinrunde” tour, which is divided into stages, passes by Brandalm. It’s a worthwhile highlight for all ambitious riders. If you want to take it easy, you can also ride individual stages of the tour.
Bikepark Schladming and Reiteralm trails
Varied trails with different levels of difficulty – from easy to challenging – beckon the brave onto winding tours and dynamic paths through the mountains. You can reach the Bikepark Schladming and the Reiteralm trails in just 15 minutes’ drive from Brandhof.
Road cycling in Schladming-Dachstein
Philipp, the host, loves to ride his road bike – and he also loves to tell you about his favourite tours: With the Stoderzinken panoramic road, Dachsteinstrasse, and Sölkpass, the Schladming-Dachstein bike region offers three low-traffic road cycling routes on what are probably the most beautiful mountain roads in the Alps.
Summer holiday with children in Styria
Brandhof offers children a whole world of possibilities: It’s a true family paradise. Do you love having options? Then experience Mt Rittisberg! It’s only about a 10-minute walk from Brandhof and offers adventure, action, and relaxation for all ages:
- The “Ramsau Beach” leisure park is a true adventure oasis at the foot of Mt Rittisberg. The spacious complex includes a 6,000m² swimming lake with a children’s pool and diving tower, an expansive and sunny lawn, a beach volleyball court, a trampoline, a flying swing, sliding soccer, table tennis, and a children’s playground.
- The “Forest Park” high ropes course on the edge of Rittisberg forest requires courage and strength. Here you’ll find four different levels of difficulty for everyone, including for kids (from 3 years) with courses up to 6 metres high, as well as challenging courses for adrenaline junkies. The park also offers some interesting games and challenges.
- On the “Rittisberg Coaster” summer toboggan run you can zoom down into the valley silently on a 1,300-metre-long track – whatever the weather.
- Other attractions include archery, the 4-seater Rittisbergbahn chairlift up the mountain, playing “farmer’s” golf, riding a Segway, fly-lining, and the barefoot path on Mt Rittisberg.
