Experience the farm – and do it right!
Cows, calves, rabbits, and our dog Bella live on our farm. If you want to, you can pet the animals and even help feed them. Our farm at Brandhof includes around 15 cows and calves. As we use the suckler cow method, the cows and calves enjoy the summer months on the lush Alpine meadows around our Brandalm. miniBRANDHOF is the absolute highlight for children. Here the kids can cook for themselves and make some new friends. In the communal garden there’s space to run around and play together – or to retreat and enjoy the peace and quiet in the sun. Big fun for little guests: pedal tractors, go-karts, a children’s swing, a playroom with children’s books, a cosy corner, and table tennis – that’s what a farm holiday with children should be like.
Around Brandhof
Brandhof is located in the middle of meadows and forests. Children love nature – dear parents, watch and be amazed! For our little guests, the area transforms into a huge playground to explore. That’s the secret to a farm holiday with children: Get out into the fresh mountain air, wander in the forest, discover its animal inhabitants and the blooming flora!
Our family hiking tip
Directly from Brandhof, a uniquely beautiful family hike (suitable for strollers) leads to our catered Alpine hut, Brandalm, at the foot of the Dachstein massif. Upon arrival, you definitely have to try the traditional homemade delicacies, such as the Schüsserlkrapfen doughnuts or the Dachstein burger made from our own organic beef. Meanwhile, the children will be having a good time in the large indoor and outdoor children’s world, at the natural playground with tadpole pond, in their own children’s Brandalm with slide, tunnel, and swing, as well as miniature ponies and Bella the dog!

Big fun for our smallest guests: In our new children’s world at Brandalm, the kids can run, jump, play, and relax indoors and outdoors – a pure mountain experience! Climbing tower, wooden slide, water games, chill-out area … while the adults enjoy a stop at the Alpine pasture on a farm holiday with children, the little ones will make new friends and discover new skills.
On Dachstein Glacier
Another highlight: The path from Brandhof to Brandalm continues to the valley station of the panoramic cable car up to Dachstein Glacier. Up here you’ll find a suspension bridge, the “Stairway to Nothingness”, the ice palace, the Skywalk, and, of course, a spectacular view. Tip: The ride on the cable car is included with the free Sommercard!
Adventures on Mt Rittisberg
Just a 10-minute walk from Brandhof and you’ll reach the Rittisberg adventure mountain. The spacious complex includes the 6,000m² swimming lake with children’s pool, diving tower, sunbathing lawn, beach volleyball court, trampoline, flying swing, sliding soccer, children’s playground, restaurant, and pizzeria. Also: exciting hikes, high-altitude playground, forest high ropes course, Rittisberg coaster, flyline, Segway, Rittisgolf, fairy-tale hiking trail, and more – this visit offers a lot of variety on your farm holiday with children.

Winter holidays at the farm with children
In winter, Brandhof impresses with its amazing location in the Ramsau am Dachstein family ski area and with a ski school, ski rental, and practice lift right at the doorstep: Kali’s adventure slopes await our little guests. Families can enjoy a winter playground with many exciting skiing options. The mascot Kali the Ramsaur accompanies the kids on every slope and lets them discover skiing in a fun and playful way. Parents can watch their children take their first turns in the snow directly from the farm. You can also experience unforgettable snow adventures together on a farm holiday with children when cross-country skiing, tobogganing, winter hiking, or building snowmen or snow castles!
Tobogganing fun from Brandalm
First head up to our Brandalm, then take the toboggan back down to Brandhof. As our guests, you can borrow toboggans free of charge at Brandalm. Tip: If the walk to Brandalm is too long for you, you can shorten the walking time by taking the bus to the valley station of the glacier cable car.
